About the Event
Digital transformation in safety-critical industries is not primarily a technology challenge—it is a Human, Technology, and Organization (HTO) challenge. This presentation draws on more than 20 years of Integrated Operations (IO) experience from the Norwegian oil and gas sector, demonstrating how sustainable performance improvement depends on aligning data, digital tools, roles, competencies, and collaboration structures.
Our presentation will give a brief overview of the historic development and present status of Integrated operations in Norwegian oil and gas. In recent years, much of our work has focused on bringing these experiences into the nuclear domain—exploring how facilities can be organized and operated in a safe, efficient, and future-oriented manner. Norwegian O&G has developed ways of working that have attracted significant international interest, as they successfully combine high safety performance with efficient resource utilization.
Presented by Trond Lilleng and Asgeir Drøivoldsmo, both senior researchers at Institute for Energy Technology (IFE).
