From Research to Decisions: Operationalising AI in Practice

AI creates value when it becomes part of real decision‑making processes. In this talk, I will discuss what it takes to operationalise AI in practice, with a particular focus on data, infrastructure, and organisational realities. Drawing on examples from NORCE and similar environments, I will address questions such as fragmented data landscapes, research data vs. operational data, online data for decision support, and practical approaches to data sharing between partners. The aim is to provide a pragmatic framework for moving AI from research prototypes to trusted, operational systems.
